A skinny young man with red hair, he is courier for Baz. He was sent to the neighboring town of Cladach to retrieve a parcel of immense importance. After taking an unorthodox path home, he is killed inside a strange ruin by a vampire spawn. The group finds his body and the parcel after defeating the spawn, later learning that Carson is the nephew of Cosan, a shop owner in Cothrom's Old Town. They also learn he had a secret relationship with Leanna, daughter of the noble Balthazar Marshall, and it seems the two planned to run away together. Baz has tasked his associate Myrnin with discovering the truth of what happened to Carson, a task for which they enlist the assistance of Amérre and Lorelei.
