Session 16

Aug 29

Sweet Dreams are Made Of This

The group sets up their standard watches so that everyone can get a good night sleep in this unfamiliar and potentially dangerous environment. Unfortunately not everyone gets the full benefit as several members of the party are plagued by terrible dreams. Arbin is particularly affected and seems quite sluggish because of it. It seems this "Dread" you've heard of may reach further than expected.

Scouting the Neighborhood

In the morning as the group discusses the oddness of their night, attempting to discern nightmare from reality, they realize they are being watched. Attempting to convey they are no threat, they make contact with Ut'Gar, the Lizardfolk scout who has been watching and assessing them. He finds the group quite odd but is able to speak with Amérre in Primordial. He tells her that his people do not cross the river as there is a great evil on the other side and warns them they too should steer clear. When Amérre informs him that they were asked by Ruh al-Ard to destroy the evil he is astonished, apparently knowing of the godlike creature from the Beastlands. Ut'Gar promises the group safe passage through Lizardfolk lands and wishes them luck in their quest.

In a While, Crocodile

After quite a bit of traveling through the jungle and a few more fretful nights, the group arrives at a large river. Fortunately, Bluud is able to use a ritual to grant the party all the ability to walk on water thus allowing them easy passage across the great river. As they all walk across it becomes clear the river has some deadly inhabitants as three giant crocodiles attempt to make them an easy meal. With some quick thinking, strength of arms, and some explosive magic, the group is able to best these creatures and make it safely to shore.

Are We There Yet?

The group continues to travel, and continues to have odd dreams. Then one afternoon the foliage lessens. A wall appears. They have made it, the lost city of Kakura!
