Out of the Frying Pan
As the adventurers start to piece together all the various coincidences, Myrnin receives a message that they must return to Cothrom immediately. Using potions provided by Flynn, they travel straight through the night. They head to Sual's where Myrnin is informed that he needs to see Baz right away. Sual let's Lorelei and Arbin know that he believes Amérre is in danger. Scian sent a message to Sual that they may have found his friend but that they could be entering a dangerous situation. He hasn't heard from them since. Lorelei and Arbin decide to venture south to figure out what has happened to their friend and her companion.
They encounter a troll on the road but are able to defeat it. Shortly after, they come across Northpoint, the town where they know Scian and Amérre last were before they lost contact. This town is a large military outpost of the Treascair army. As they approach the gates however, they are captured by soldiers and brought to the prison inside the barracks.
Flight of the JailBirds
Arbin and Lorelei are brought to the barracks by two of the soldiers. It turns out that Amérre, Scian, and Scian's friend Bluud have been plotting an escape as the guards enter with the two new prisoners. As the soldiers open the cell to imprison the new captives, they spring into action and are able to subdue the guards and free Arbin and Lorelei from their bonds. Reunited, Amérre introduces her friends to Scian's friend Bluud as well as the mayor of Northpoint, Mayor Norbert Merriweather.
It seems following the death of the King of Treascair things have become more corrupt under the rule of his brother. The lawlessness inspired by the greed of the King Regent caused the captain here in Northpoint to seize power and jail the mayor. The soldiers have since been kidnapping merchants and travellers who pass by in order to steal their valuables and ransom them for cash.
Powerful Allies
Armed with new allies and the knowledge of the mayor, the reunited group is able to find the safe and reacquire their possessions. They then set out to conquer their captives and set the city free. A large battle commences just outside the barracks. Both Bluud and Scian prove to be capable in a fight and the captain as well as most of his soldiers are quickly vanquished. The remaining soldiers are imprisoned and the town is returned to the residents and their mayor.
